First time buyer

I dare say this has been asked before, but just wanted to know for sure.
My son bought a house with his then girlfriend about 4 years ago. Both were first time buyers. Things didn’t work out, so about ago two years ago the split up and the house was sold.
My son now has a new girlfriend, and they are both saving for a house. His new girlfriend is a first time buyer. How does this effect them getting a place, are they still classed as first time buyers?
Are they able to take out isa’s for first time buyers and would they get the tax relief?
Or would it not be available to them due to my son previously purchasing a house, even though he doesn’t own it anymore?

they are not first time buyers when buying together, your son also isn't entitled to any FTB products like the isa

All depends on individual lending policies, I was under the impression that only 1 buyer in a join mortgage had to be a first time buyer to have access to FTB incentives

She can have a lifetime ISA. He cannot. They will pay stamp duty if it restarts. Also HTB ISAs have stopped.
