Done to death I'm sure but....Next steps

Options
Good morning!
I was discharged 3rd March...am I to expect some sort of notification through the post or anything? I only know about the discharge because I had an email from credit karma to say there had been an update on my file and the notice of discharge was there  :) for some reason clear score updated 2 days ago but its not showing on there, would there be a reason for that?

What do I need to do now? Will I get a certificate of discharge or anything that I can use if needed? Also, whilst checking my report following the email, I noticed that one of my creditors has reported a default post discharge,  what do I need to do about this please? Sorry if these are all very stupid questions  :#

No, you don`t get anything unless you request it from the OR`s office.

Go to the debt camel website, search for "credit file clean up" its the same process for IVA/DRO/Bankruptcy etc.

Thanks sourcrates, as always  :) seems a shame you don't get any kind of certificate automatically, almost an anticlimax  :D
  • Hi  sacha28
You could log on the Individual Insolvency Register (IIR) - Home. Search your name and print off a copy/s as proof should you need it. I believe it will remain on there for 3 months and then gets removed.
    Congratulations on your discharge.
    Kind regards.

Thank you! Just done this 😀 could I just ask...how does it appear on your file once discharged? What I mean is, does it show as "default" or "settled"? And is it the date bankruptcy was granted, or the date of discharge? Sorry, just trying to get my head around things.

Sorry, what I meant was what should it say on each creditor now I've been discharged - settled, default etc?

All your old credit debts need to show is the default date, which must be the date of your bankruptcy or prior to it.
That`s it, six years from that date, the entries will drop off your file.

Some creditors may mark your file as satisfied, others may not, the debt hasn`t been satisfied, its been written off by bankruptcy, so normally the date of default is all that matters.

Sorry if I'm being a bit stupid but is that the date bankruptcy was granted, or discharge date?

The date you were officially BR..
    EG :-1:
    Bankrupt Jan 20th 2021
    Discharged Jan 20th 2022
Your accounts should show missed payments up until you BR date.

    Hope this helps 👍
