Missing joint endowment

I divorced from my ex husband almost 10 years ago afterbeing married for 24 years and for approximately 10 years, we had an endowment mortgage with The Cheshire Builsing Society, prior to switching to a Repayment Mortgage.
Over the last 10 years, I have asked my ex husband where the endowment is but I cannot get an answer other than, 'oh that's gone'.
The thing is that, I have never signed to cash in the endowment during or after the marriage, nor can I get a clear answer on where it is or what happened to it.

Not really beyond saying that normally endowment policies form part of the divorce settlement as they are an asset. Either one of you would have been assigned the policy or the surrender value would have been used to pay part of the settlement if the solicitor has done their correctly.
