Advice on owing a solicitors bill

Options
Hi I instructed a solicitor Nov 2019 , was informed by the company that money would always have to be upfront for the work. My case was due for court in Feb 2020 , prior to that the standard of work and communication by this solicitor firm become dreadful and my original solicitor who I had instructed  with 8 yrs experienced was replaced by a solicitor with 2 years experience,  not what I had expected for £300 a hr. I was not informed of this. With one thing after another I then asked what my bill would be I never had a reply so thought I still had money on my file, to then receive a £2,000 bill for 14days flawed me as my solicitor was on sick and my barrister had been dealing with my case which I was paying separately. I decided to go to the ombudsman and only yesterday was informed the solicitor had knocked £700 off my bill and a letter was sent last July which I had obviously not received. In the meantime I had my house taken off me as my ex partner won his case regarding common law wife which  does not exist in Wales even after 17yrs of being with my partner.. I then got diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and had to move into a private rental many miles away from friends as the pandemic has put stop to rentals locally.  I then had an IVA due to my bills and moving costs . My concern is if I accept the bill with the deduction will I have to pay it all in one go as I have little spare cash or will the solicitor take me to court for the money. I have no assets no car no home and only my furniture.  I cannot find any advice via citizens advice as cannot get through. My stress levels are through the roof which has effected my condition
