NON standard construction property legislation

Please could someone advise we have a santander mortgage on a beautiful semi detached house - we have tried to re mortgage and they have refused as the other half of the semi detached is non standard construction-  PRC. Our half was rebuilt in brick and is standard construction. Santander  are ok with carrying on with our current mortgage, which makes no sense (but I am not rocking that boat) . The next door is owned by a landlord who rents it out. Do I have any legal rights to get him to update his property? what legislation could help me ? Thank you so much

We have the same problem, but from a slightly different angle so i hope its ok to jump on here rather than start a new thread?
We are selling our house which has a PRC. we are a semi and the other half is still owned by the council and does not have the PRC.
We have sold our house but the surveyor for Santandar has said that they will not give our buyer the mortgage because although our house is perfectly fine, next door isn't. So our buyer cannot buy it. [they are looking at other lenders]
so basically we cannot sell our house if nobody can get a mortgage because of next door?
we have had a mortgage and have remortgaged in the past with no issue.
    seems ludicrous! any advice appreciated

I doubt it, unless it's actually causing you a problem because e.g. it's deteriorating and affecting the structure of your house.
