Do keep in mind that there may not have been anything left over as there's usually a whole load of people who earn different kinds of fees in the repo process.I am a Mortgage Adviser - You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. thanks K_S....now part 2 of stupid question 😉...i changed mortgage a few times when i owned house and am not sure who i had mortgage with.Is there a way to track this down?0

@bennydordy It's not a stupid question but it might not be easy to track down. The most reliable way to do this would be through the Land Registry who will have details of old charges on file.If you contact them using their online contact form and include the property details, rough dates etc for the mortgage, they will check their records and tell how how you can get the information. It may involve a bit of paperwork and a small fee.Generally speaking, basic details such as lender and date of charge would be in their old register and given that it's only 10 years ago, shouldn't be too hard to dig out. Good luck!

@bennydordy I'm not a debt expert but with a CCJ taken out 12 years (for a debt taken out against a property that has already been repo'ed) and no contact thereafter, I think you can safely lay this to rest.
To reassure yourself, it might be worth dropping this question to stepchange here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6027813/struggling-with-debt-ask-a-stepchange-debt-adviser-a-question/p34I am a Mortgage Adviser - You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
