Blood pressure monitor recommendation.

Hi there.
My GP has suggested that I purchase a blood pressure monitor.
Can anyone recommend any particular one, please, or perhaps offer any general advice.
As usual, there seem to be loads on the market.
Thanks very much.

Which magazine rate it as one of the most accurate, and among the cheapest. Not had any problems with mine.

I waw going to say Omron M2 basic as well, our GP recommended it and it seems to be so popular that the large cuffs (to buy separately, as we need one in addition to the standard cuff) are sold out absolutely everywhere!

Omron M2 basic, that's the one that I got, same as the nurse uses and available at Argos so I was able to use vouchers I had.

I have Omron M2 Classic - good little machines.
Don't be tempted by the cheaper wrist monitors - they are not accurate enough for monitoring purposes.

We also have an Omron.  I took it to the surgery when I had a visit with the nurse and we compared the readings.  They were very close.

My GP recommended I get one that was validated by the British Hypertension Society, so one of these:

I also have an Omron M2 Basic.
