Barclays, help!

I’m getting so fed up with Barclays. I really wish I knew how terrible they were prior to applying. Had I known, I’d have gone elsewhere so I could have had some sanity.
We applied on 15th January and we are no closer to a mortgage offer. It took them weeks to accept a change in property value form, which they did last week. They told us once the form had been approved, we’d be able to go straight to a mortgage offer. Now they are saying they’ve been waiting over a month to hear back from Countrywide on the classification of the property. Countryside’s valuation report listed the property as a maisonette, flat and a house. A simple question that should surely take 5 mins to answer, but Barclays say they haven’t heard back from Countrywide. So we’re in limbo, Barclays say they’re waiting on Countrywide and Countrywide tell me they responded to Barclays weeks ago. Nobody can tell me anything. Just stuck in limbo with no chance of a resolution. No one at Barclays seems to want to put their neck out. Broker isn’t getting anywhere either.
Does anyone have any advice?

Finally got my offer today! I emailed the CEO of Barclays on Monday and can’t help but feel that did it!1
