Self employment tax after discharge from Bankruptcy.

I'm hoping someone can help because I'm at the end of my tether regarding the below.
I discharged from my bankruptcy April 2020. Being self employed I was told that I pay the tax for the year I was bankrupt directly to the OR.
So i put the money to one side and once my accountant had done my tax return for that year I contacted the OR to send them my tax return. This was October 2020.
My case worker had moved to another department, so I contacted the main office via phone and email to ask who I send my tax return to etc.
I also had been told that my file was closed which I thought was strange as I was still owing the tax money to them.
Each time I called I was promised a call back within 48hrs. No one called back. I sent several emails from the end of October. I got a reply 21st Dec saying I have been forwarded to the relevant inbox and someone would be in touch.
On the 24th December I received a call from an OR. She asked me to send my tax return to her and that I didn't have to do anything as they dealt with HMRC directly and that they submit my tax return to HMRC on my behalf. Great I thought! It's being sorted out finally.
I emailed my tax return to her. By the beginning of Feb I had heard nothing from the OR. I phoned and emailed the lady I spoke to in December to follow up. No response, NOTHING.
Again 22nd Feb, I emailed & called the same lady. No response. Bearing in mind the tax return deadline was about to pass in a few days.
March 3rd, I call the the OR office and asked for a call back. Still no reply. I called again on 5th to be told "we only take messages and have no control over when you will be called back" even though they say you'll be called back within 48hrs. I explained that I had been trying to deal with this since October and had got nowhere. He gave me an email address for the IPA department to contact them. I still have no response. I have contacted HMRC numerous times and they have no clue about any of it. Only that I need to submit my tax return for that year and that they haven't received it as of 5th March 2021.
I have been given no information from the OR on how I pay my NI - do I pay it to them and they pay HMRC or do I pay directly to HMRC. But I can't do that if HMRC don't have my tax return.
This is causing me so much distress. I just want it sorted out. I have no idea if my tax return had been passed on and if it's being dealt with. Whatever I try to do I hit a brick wall.
If anyone has any experience with this please please can you advice me of what to do next? I'm calling/emailing the OR office weekly now until I get a response.
