Barclays mortgage Scotland

My son is buying his first flat in Glasgow. He has a mortgage offer from Barclays. When the paralegal called Barclays to confirm release of mortgage funds for this Thursday she was told it couldn’t be confirmed yet as gone back to revisions team. We are really worried. Is this standard procedure for Scottish mortgages ?

That's the inherent danger with constantly asking for updates. Unnecessary panic sets in. Rather than letting people get on with their jobs.

@moira7 Barclays told the conveyancers that the mortgage offer has gone back to the "revisions team"?

Did your son (or his mortgage broker) request for any changes to the mortgage offer - loan amount, property details, etc etc?

No. No changes requested and no changes in circumstances. My solicitor says she thinks it may be part of the process for Scottish mortgages. Hope we hear it has been signed off soon. How long does it take Barclays to process release of funds ?
