Deduction from earnings for car lease private parking invoices

I think if you want to argue with your employer and/or lease company as to the distinction between the meaning in this context of "fine" and "invoice", then you are not going to get very far. And if it's going to flag you up as an "awkward employee" it may not be worth it.Yes - your employer perhaps should not* have paid the charges without notifying you, but they did and deducted them from your salary. Once they've been refunded, they will refund you. I think all you can do is to keep checking on whether they have received the refund yet. If you want to kick up a fuss about it go ahead - but it may cause more trouble than it's worth. And as said above, the real culprit is your wife's manager.*There seems to be an assumption that your employer "ought" to have told you about the charges before paying them. Does it actually say that in your contract? I wonder if it's more hassle for them to dispute them than just pay them.1

'2 whole months'....hardly a massively long period, particularly as those months were in the run up to Christmas/New Year and everyone is still battling with COVID issues. I really don't understand all the fuss; if the refunds are made in the next month or so, that's the end of the story. Annoying, yes, but stop blaming your company for something which isn't really their fault.FuzzyDuck1 said:
I did that initially... it’s already confirmed that these types of ticket are not “fines” and my contract states that they can only deduct “fines”. Don’t get me wrong I want my employer to get the money back and I’m willing to help chase for payment. What I don’t agree with is for absolutely nothing to be brought to my attention for 2 whole months meaning I wasn’t able to rectify sooner so there wasn’t such a big invoice. My company paid them all without even notifying me. Thankfully we’ve been able to get the invoices reversed and only now waiting on payment. However, These non enforceable tickets can be challenged as the private car parking companies can only invoice the driver and not a company or registered keeper (if the registered keeper isn’t the driver). So I think what I am asking is, as these are not “fines” can the company then make deductions from my wages without my permission or would that be an unlawful deduction of earnings?
