Childcare refund

Hi there
I have a balance of circa £1400 in my childcare account and do not need it anymore for childcare.
I have been told by the childcare provider that I cannot have a refund and also by my employer that they cannot help.
Is there any other way I can try and get the money? I don't need holiday childcare either. Am I allowed to pay for a friend's childcare?

Is there actually £1400 in a tax free childcare account or in the form of childcare vouchers?
If it is in the tf childcare account it can be withdrawn, no idea about in voucher form though sorryLBM Debt Total : £48,326.50
