Unemployed and getting depressed!

It's hard but I do believe that whatever happens - happens for the best! Hopefully things will start to change soon for all of us. Good luck in your job search.familyman28 said:I know how you feel. I don't have a job and it does get very depressing. Everybody is in the same boat though and hopefully demand will pick up after covid. Maybe try and look for volunteering if you are bored. I know my local town still has lots of volunteers needed and at least it gets you out of the house0 -
You're not going to want to hear this but if there aren't jobs available in your chosen field, you might have to take a survival job till those roles open up and it may well not be a job you'ill enjoy.Look if you're financially secure ignore me but sometimes you have to shallow your pride and do a job which is unpleasant or you reguard as beneath you because you have no other option.1

Hello,
My last IT contract ended at the end of January. I have over 15 years worth of experience in IT but what I do is very niche. I've been studying for a degree over the past few years (while working full-time) and I'm doing that at the moment plus other courses on Udemy. I've applied for around 100 jobs to date but I'm either underqualified or overqualified. I'm not just applying for IT jobs but also roles where I believe I have some transferable skills. So far I've had few responses and those responses have been "thanks but no" and not a single interview. I know that Aldi are hiring but I'm not ready for that just yet and maybe they wouldn't want me anyway! Weirdly I'm still feeling quite happy and optimistic despite sitting on a mountain of debts. I have both Reed books on CVs and interviews so I've spent some time working on my different CVs and cover letters. I may be unemployed but I've no time to be bored! Keep positive everyone if you can!1
