Mortgage after bankruptcy

Options
Hi. My hubby and I went bankrupt in 2017, released in 2018. We would love to buy a house at some point as renting is dead money. I was told by a mortgage advisor that we are unlikely to be able to get a mortgage until 6 years from date of release so 2024. Is this correct? I have been debt free since and my credit score is improving. Any advice would be great.

3 years discharged and you should have options, although you will probably be looking at 15-20% deposit.
When in 2018 was he discharged? After that date there should be lenders who will consider the bankruptcy.
