Hello,
Never posted in this part of the forum before. My current job I have worked at for 7 years is no longer working for me in terms of jugging a house/kids and being a career for my husband.
I am thinking of moving to an entirely different career, but I have no idea what. I would like a day time job where I do not have to work Christmas and not many weekends. Also would need to be part time until the kids are older. I have a 1st class degree in midwifery, current salary is 38,000 a year full time but I am part time. Money isn't the most important, something that fits in with my family is the most important thing to me right now so I do not get ill myself.
Does anyone have a job they enjoy that might give me some inspiration
Thanks!

If you enjoy your job but midwifery (assuming that's what you do?) is populated by too many unpredictable arrivals, have you considered offering your services as a super-qualified nanny/mother's help/child minder, stipulating that you are only available during the day + any other restrictions you want to impose?Clouds88 said:Hello,

Thanks!Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1 -
From a position of ignorance about qualifications - and pay! But antenatal classes or 1-2-1, breastfeeding support, health visitor come to mind as relevant things that can happen at mostly predictable times.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Sounds like you had a really good job! Maybe look into the day surgery? If you want to stay in health care, a lot of those shifts are 9-5 or 8-41

Thanks for the ideas.
I still have the job, I will stick it out until i can't manage it or i find something else. I did think about health visiting but it's not under nhs I don't think, so I would have to start a new pension but I suppose I'll be in my next job for 25 years if I like it (only 30) so maybe that doesn't matter.
My ideal would be DAU or EPAC but no jobs currently in my local hospital. I will keep looking into other options, thanks.0 -
Some health visitors are still employed by the NHS: https://www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/explore-roles/public-health/roles-public-health/health-visitorClouds88 said:Thanks for the ideas.

Excellent as the NHS pension scheme is, no pension scheme should determine how you spend the next quarter of a century!Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1
