This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about
everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great,
inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old
Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already.
Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check
the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style
natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Cold start to the day here with frost and fog Although yesterday it did get warmer and I managed to get a load of washing line dried.
DH watching catchup tv, I'm showered, dressed and enjoyed my first cuppa and a brekkie bar. DS1 still in his pit. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was the SM indian takeaway - very nice it was too. Roast pork for lunch today. Once that's all sorted, and pack ups etc done, I'll be chilling for the afternoon before going back to work tomorrow.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning - seems to be a fine quiet morning here.Hope everyone is ok and had a good day yesterday. We didn't go out, well I went to the supermarket, and DH was doing something with the car. It was a nice day though, and I got some washing practically dry.I seemed to spend a lot of the morning texting back and forth with my niece, talking about the problems of another family member.. It started when I texted her to talk about her daughter's recently announced pregnancy then the talk meandered off as it does.Nothing much happening today, unless we go for a walk.Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to the poorly people and those with problems.Take care folks11

Morning AllFlorence - you are getting very organised for Easter with your bunnies! As usual, not too much to report. I have tidied and hoovered round and am going to have porridge shortly once I've finished my coffee to wake me up a bit!I have some lamb steaks for lunch so I will do those with some roast potatoes and veg. I might make some egg mayonnaise for sandwiches for tea.I want to try and rest today as I have a busy week ahead with lots of meetings for work (from home) and some appointments for my DF which take me away from my work from time to time. I am fairly up to date with the housework and have some meal ideas using what I have already so I think I'm organised!I am thinking of changing my working hours and doing some work at the weekends to free me up a bit in the week as obviously doctors/hospital appointments are during the week - anyway, that's just something I am pondering! It's not quite so sunny this morning and there is a frost but I'm sure that will soon be gone.
Hugs to all of you with problems to manage and anyone else who may be struggling.Have a good day allx12 -

Morning all - thanks for starting us off nmlc.TRCB - your idea seems really sensible, I hope you can work things out so that it all fits in without too much hassle.Yesterday DM stayed in bed so the birthday tea didn't take place as planned. Her friend sat in her bedroom as they did the crossword though they didn't play Scrabble. He had to take away a lot of uneaten cake, I had bought three huge and very scrummy strawberry tarts so only he ate one and took one home. Mine is in the fridge shouting at me to eat it! DM's friend gave a book which is a collection of material from Dorothy Parker, short stories, sayings and verses. She was a very witty person with a sharp tongue which was sometimes not nice. Should be an interesting read. The roasted red pepper and tomato soup has been made and is very tasty. I added a wee touch of chilli flakes to give it some ooomph. Whilst I was dreading it the job of deskinning the peppers was very relaxing. DM had a tiny wee bit to taste it though she hadn't had anything to eat all day.My new laptop is almost setup with everything I need. To my delight and surprise I discovered that it has a touch screen. I was taking a bit of dust off the screen with my finger which then made everything move
Not sure it's a feature I especially need but it was fun to play with.
Take care folks, we are slowly thawing. Thoughts to those who are struggling. Happy Sunday to all.11 -
Good morning everyone
Just been having a catch- up with my breakfast. I have a few jobs to do and then will go down to mam and dads to write dad's email to DD in Sweden.
Had a potter in the garden yesterday afternoon and read some of my book.
Little one is with her daddy today, so I'll have a quiet day. So far she is loving their new little puppy...he is very cute.
Hope everyone has a good day today and the sun is shining13 -
Morning, hugs if you need one. It has been a bit of a frustrating weekend. We managed to get the bed sorted and had a good nights sleep. As usual I had to get up for the toilet but soon dropped off again, I was rather tired.
Last week DB told me to get a new tablet, he had taken over my old one as his was acting up. The new tab
let arrived the next day, but it was faulty, it kept rebooting, so I complained and the company sent me another one. They did not have the same model in stock so upgraded it at no extra cost. I started to load it yesterday afternoon, and it started doing the same as the first one, so both have been returned by courier this morning. I now have to look for another one. A lot of the cheaper ones are out of stock, people with children have been buying them so the children can keep up with school work. I have found one at Argos. Our local Argos has closed so again its going to have to come via courier. Our nearest one is in Nottingham.
Its a very misty morning, the sun is due to come through but no sign of it yet. Friday and yesterday I got laundry dry on the line, first for a long while. Hope it continues, the leccy bill will go down a bit.
Speical supper tonight, its our wedding anniversary, DB requested pork steak, so thats what he is getting with roast veggies etc and a strawberry trifle for dessert.

Hello all.I had a productive day yesterday as I cleaned the inside of the patio doors, the sun had shown up all the dirt
I swept up the leaves from the patio and I cut out the dead wood from 2 pieris trees. Then I tidied the other patio which is never used properly so has become a dumping ground and finally Mr Fix It has said he will let all the metalwork go to the scrappy man. It's only been there about 2 years waiting for him to cut it up and make something. I also mopped the outside toilet floor, it hasn't been used over the winter and was rather dusty and today I will wash down the walls to get rid of the spider webs. I really should have done that the other way round.
Csarina happy anniversary, hope you have a lovely day and meal tonight.Hope everyone can have a goodish day.Take care all, stay safe and well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Happy Anniversary Csarina, hope you have a nice day8
