40th birthday - lockdown - ideas

It's my partner's 40th birthday in March, so obviously we'll still be in lockdown and not able to have a proper party or go anywhere. We had booked (optimistically) a holiday in Dorset which we had to cancel.. Lockdown began on her birthday last year!
These things combined she's feeling a bit down about her birthday. She's suggested doorstep type stuff (like the panto sfuff you saw on TV around Christmas on the news) but this seems to be out of the question at the moment.
Just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation recently and managed to think of cool stuff for their partner/family member etc!
I appreciate this is pretty vague, just scoping for ideas really!

OH is in same position. We're waiting until things start to open up again rather than 'make-do' with what we can do whilst lockdown is still on.0

I think we'll do something properly later in the year too yeah, however, we can't let the day just go unmarked! I have presents, just thinking how else to make it more special than a usual birthday really
Spotted that Cameo thing but nobody on there is her cup of tea really so wouldn't be much point, besides, I'm sure she'd prefer a band to some celebrities saying happy birthday!0 -
It's my kids 21st and 18th birthdays in March. For 18 years I've thought we would have an amazing if expensive celebration of some sort, I never considered this situation. DS 21st is early March whilst still in the current rules and he is at Uni 100 miles away. Nothing we can do for it. He has been sent cards & money and told to order a take away and get some alcohol for him and his 2 housemates to mark the occasion. DD's 18th is a better scenario as it falls in the week that 2 households/6 people can meet up inc in private gardens. We are making plans to have some guests round during that week, over different days to keep within restricted numbers. From the info you've given your wifes birthday falls in the current lockdown but towards restrictions being lifted. What about ordering a fancy meal for her birthday or a zoom party but with actual people in your garden from w/c 29th March. I'm assuming you're in England with this suggestion as I don't know what any unlocking rules are in the rest of the U.K1

Cheers for the suggestion, yeah I think we may end up doing something like that. Try as I might these whole perform on your doorstep things don't seem to easy to find! She's quite different to me, that's be my idea of seriously embarrassing!0

A hot tub. As a 39 year old I've started to get into having a nice bath but I think I miss going for a swim.0

I'd love to do that, sadly she absolutely hates hot tubs! - I know, a bit unusual but at least I know and didn't end up getting her one! Cheers for the idea though0

It was my daughters 18th in lockdown. I set up a secret Facebook page and asked friends who asked friends to record a shortish message. Family got involved as well . On her birthday I “invited” her to her own page and she loved it.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.1

Ah that's lovely! I only have until Wednesday so I've probably left it a bit late for that, also I don't think any of her mates use Facebook, she doesn't!
I was intending for a Zoom or whatever call perhaps I can get some more surprise people to come along!0 -
It's actually just inspired me to create a WhatsApp group for a wider zoom call than I had intended! Thanks0
