Term time only

I am the only one who works term time only where I work and my salary is pro rated. The company I work for has merged with another company and I only found out by chance that my colleagues have all been given 3 extra concessionary/bank holiday days to put them in line with the other company. I have asked if I should be entitled to anything and am waiting for a response. I expect them to say I wont be entitled to anything as I should have been told if I was, but I have a niggling feeling that I should have been given something. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I would say yes, you should get something if the intention is to get everyone in line, but what that 3 days would amount to FOR YOU is more difficult to determine.
And it is not legally required that they should give you additional holiday - there is nothing wrong in having different members of staff on different terms and conditions, even if they are doing the same job.Signature removed for peace of mind1 -
You are a part-time worker (you may work full-time hours during term-time but you are not working full-time for the whole year). It is not lawful to treat part-timers less favourably than their full-time equivalents simply because they are part-time. So you should receive the extra holidays in the same proportion as your hours are to theirs.bettydaviseyes said:I am the only one who works term time only where I work and my salary is pro rated. I had a feeling I should be given something but the fact that no one has said anything made me doubt myself. I hope its just an oversight on their part as I feel a bit mugged off - all my colleagues who work part time (im the only one term time only) all have been given a proportion of those 3 concession/bank holidays.0

Though you work term time only are you paid every month, your annual pay being spread equally through the year?bettydaviseyes said:I had a feeling I should be given something but the fact that no one has said anything made me doubt myself.
