Tax relief from SIPP from previous year

I am looking to max out my allowance for this years SIPP. Looking at this tax years contributions I have a £3K tax relief paid in May from a lump sum I paid in late March 2020.
My question is does this tax relief count towards this years allowance, or is it regarded as part of the previous years allowance?
I have looked online for some answers but haven't seen any!
