    ZingPowZing, thanks for your comment I'm almost certain that the Scottish Widows one does, Not so sure about the standard life one as it is "she who must be obeyed"'s.

    To get back to practicalities . Older SW and SL pensions will quite possibly not offer drawdown , you need to check. Don't take things for granted.

    For example I have an older  SL pension . I have full on line access , can switch funds etc but if I wanted to go into drawdown I would have to open a new SL pension ( or with another provider) and transfer in to that . I have an historical discount on the current pension and its not clear if this would continue with a new SL pension , which is a kind of SIPP/personal pension hybrid.
