Sepcialist lenders - anyone succeeded in borrowing a little bit extra more ...?

We're in a bit of a pickle... we've had an offer accepted on our home. We've also found a home that we love and the vendor has accepted our offer.
Our current mortgage broker says due to my credit rating and past 3 months of spending habits, lenders are most likely to refuse my application in these current times.
Combined, me and my wife earn a little over £46k, this is also including the £1620 odd child benefit we get, thats the only benefit we receive.
We have £250k equity left over (i'm accepting the fact we'll pay stamp duty) after all the fees, but the house we want is £460k. Which means we need £210k mortgage.
In the beginning my broker said "yes £210k should be achievable". Over recent weeks, he's been asking for more and more intricate financial details like statements, bills, ID, annual mortgage statements, etc. but today he delivered the bombshell and said basically " NO CAN DO" based on the below:
Any help or light shed on this would be most appreciated.... thanks.

@tallmandat Does your credit report show arrears on your mortgage account?
