Income from employee shares

Options
Hi all,
I'd be really grateful for some clarification regarding income from shares please. My husband got to a point within his company where he was offered to buy shares, with the understanding that every 5 years after refinancing there would be a pay out. I'm curious if this can be included as a source of income during our mortgage application and how it is accepted, ie. as an additional bonus, as this is a one off payment every 5 years.
Many thanks.

@ladyb83 Afaik there is no lender who will consider a once every five year bonus payment as income for affordablity purposes.
