Question about Lowell

Good Morning.
I had 4 x accounts (Old Sky, EE and O2 Debt) with Lowell which due to a number of factors including health Lowell closed in December after providing proof they requested. All accounts are showing a zero balance and closed under my Lowell account login. However Lowell are still reporting these accounts as open with the full balance (as of latest report in February). Upon asking Lowell they said that they would carry on reporting these accounts as open and nothing would change on my report. This does not seem right to me as the accounts are closed and have a zero balance. After questioning Lowell the very helpful customer service person suggested that maybe I would like them to open the accounts again and that would be the only way that anything would change!
Thank you for your responses in advance.

They have effectively 'agreed not to pursue' and not 'write off'
I think you should now just leave them alone, particularly as none of these fall under the Consumer Credit Act and so you do not have the protection of that Act.
The entries will fall off 6 years after they were defaulted and will also be statute barred at that date, or 6 years after you last paid/acknowledged them if later.0 -
I have had the same issue. They marked them at £0.00 with a letter advising of such and when I called to question, it was confirmed my credit report will be updated to show them as closed accounts. Obviously it hasn't as the letter was dated 01 Sep but they've point blank refused.Instead, I've raised it via each credit agency and so far transunion have suppressed the information since December as they never got a response from Lowell. The other two agencies should be making a decision within the next 2 weeks into if they will follow suite or not.0
