City Countdown Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

  1. The prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over, except employees of City Countdown, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the prize draw.
  2. The prize draw is free to enter and no purchase is necessary. The only requirements are that all entrants will need to either complete the competition form and/or answer a quiz question (as described on the applicable Prize Draw entry form at www.citycountdown.com). 
  3. All entries must be submitted via www.citycountdown.com and only one entry per person is permitted.
  4. The opening date for each Prize Draw is every Monday at 9am. The closing date of the prize draw is 23.59 each subsequent Sunday. Entries received after this time will not be accepted for that particular Prize Draw.
  5. City Countdown accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
  6. One winner will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process on the following Friday after the closing date of the applicable prize draw (“Draw Date”).
  7. The winner will receive £100 paid into their bank account. The winner must have a bank account for this purpose.
  8. The winner will be published via City Countdown’s Instagram page and on the City Countdown website (citycountdown.com) on the applicable Draw Date. The winner must claim their prize by contacting City Countdown at info@citycountdown.com. If a winner does not respond to City Countdown within 14 days of being notified by City Countdown, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and City Countdown will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
  9. The prize will be sent to the winner by email within 14 days of claiming their win.
  10. The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  11. The decision of City Countdown regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
  12. City Countdown must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation City Countdown will send the surname and county of major prize winners and, if applicable copies of their winning entries, to anyone who emails info@citycountdown.com or writes to our registered office at 2 Woodberry Grove, North Finchley, London, N12 0DR
      (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the closing date stated in condition 4. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact City Countdown at2 Woodberry Grove, North Finchley, London, N12 0DR. In such circumstances, City Countdown must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
  13. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. City Countdown reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
  14. City Countdown reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.
  15. Insofar as is permitted by law, City Countdown, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of City Countdown, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  16. Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will only be processed as set out in City Countdown’s privacy policy. See also condition 12 with regard to the announcement of winners.
  17. By entering the prize draw or applying for an offer you give permission for City Countdown to pass your details to any third party sponsor of the competition / offer so they may contact you in the event that you win the competition or qualify for the offer. If you do not win the prize draw / qualify for the offer your details will not be passed on without your explicit permission.
  18. The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.

  • This is actually incorrect - there is no 'queen of england' in the same way there is no 'president of texas'. The last queen of england was Queen Anne who died 300 years ago. The kingdom of england was abolished in 1707

    They've obviously just misquoted her title as Queen of England rather than the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland but, as it asks 'What is the first name of the current Queen of England?', then we have to assume it is Elizabeth
