Dry clean only wash for cushions- Can I machine wash?

Bought these lovely, beige coloured cushions covers from John Lewis a few months back.
They are 100% polyester, lovely, soft and smooth.
The washing label reads, dry clean only.
Polyester is a durable fabric, can I light machine wash them with nothing else in the machine at ligt wash?
Our machine has a 40 min minimum wash.
And then I won't put into the drier but let them naturally dry. Thanks.

Comments

  • I wash all mine in the machine, two at a time , gentle hand wash programme.

They may fade but seeing as I wash the lot at one go, I cant tell
  • Thank you. I have turned them inside out, 12 of them, they are light coloured so should be ok, thanks again. Now going to try as I've also been reading up Google and looks as though it should be ok.
  • Update:
Washed, all good. Air dried in ustilty room where drier was running and radiator on full blast - smell fresh like new and no side reduction, loss of colour etc.

Wash settigns  - delicates 15 mins at 30C, very  slow spin

    Thanks.

You may get colour fade the more you wash but as long as you wash the complete set the same amount of times you won't notice.

You may also get a rippling on the zip. I tend to pull on my zipped edge whilst drying just in case the nylon thread shrinks

  • Thank you. As its the first wash at a cool 30C, 15 mins so no colour fade noted possibly as because it's light beige
We turned inside out and closed zips as far as possible, min spin. One of the zip ends came undone, needle and thread did the trick and they cam out as though ironed. Hung on hangers and dry within 3 hours.
Many thanks for your help, appreciated.
