MBNA DEFAULTED ACCOUNTS

Good evening all
looking for some advice as I am at my wits end, I have been In contact with mbna as I lost access to my accounts and have been told that they are in default, they are in default because they were informed that I was considering entering in to an IVA.
I was considering an IVA but used the cooling off period to change my mind and decided to not proceed, based on the fact that I was considering it MBNA have now defaulted all my accounts and reported it to the credit reference agencies which will now sit on my account for 6 years.
bear in mind that I was all up to date with payments.
im struggling to comprehend and have asked for where it is located in their terms and conditions that if a person considers and iva but doesn't actually go through with it that their accounts are automatically defaulted, I have also sent them a letter of no interest from the insolvency company to demonstrate my withdrawal.
im completed stunned by this action even more so that not one person has contacted me and really not sure if they allowed to behave in this manner.

I've moved your post to the debt forum, simply because its more appropriate.
It certainly seems a tad extreme, especially as you never actually went insolvent.
Who informed them of your initial intentions ?
As that raises data protection issues all on its own, it would not be normal policy to inform a creditor of any debt solution, unless it had already been signed off on.
I don`t know if there is more to this than you are letting on, but I would certainly register a formal written complaint to MBNA about this, as its a major overstepping of the mark.
They would have 8 weeks in which to issue a final response, and as always the FOS would be the next port of call should you remain unhappy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. thanks for your input, I was discussing a payment plan with them at the time and it was myself that mentioned it that I was considering it.
there really isn't anymore going on than what I've said, it was literally a consideration and then bam.
I have a formal complaint lodged as they didn't even notify me or give me any notification at all, First I knew was when I couldn't get access to my accounts online.
to say im furious is an understatement, I have asked them to point out where it specifically stated in their t&c's and in their policy that this is a legitimate and appropriate action to take given it was only a consideration.0 -
