    I had an engineer sent out pronto the last time. That means I kept up my end of the bargain and fulfilled my responsibilities.
    If you just want to rant about evil landlords, then fill your boots.
    Electricians charge upwards of £100 per hour. In one case, I was quoted £115 per HALF hour.
    Obviously, even if I've got horns on my head, that's not happening.
    I would much rather someone who knew what they were talking about just asked me about the boiler and then helped me identify the right sort of electrician. Otherwise, save your anger/envy for someone else. I am not particularly attached to this business.

    It's hard to filter the signal from the noise in this thread. I don't need the hassle and, given the attitude I've faced here, I might just ignore it and force the issue.

    is it definitely an electric boiler ? if you have a make and model we might be able to suggest the kind of person you should be looking for.

    It's an electrical boiler, says it's made by "RM Cylinders" , it's marked "Direct /C"

    Not to !!!!!! on your parade, but taking reasonable steps IS good enough.

  • What exactly do you want the tenants to do? Do the research, go to you with a shortlist of costs? Do the work themselves?
