Hi
I would be grateful if anyone can share with me who they have successfully applied for a mortgage with a default on record.

I have too! 4 year old default for around £200 and also a history of payday loans.
Mortgage with Natwest around the 1.7% mark1 -
A one off default should be possible to overcome.
The things that are important are:
When was it registered? This is the big one, the older the better.
How much was it for?
Has it been satisfied?
A 4 year old satisfied default might be possible to overcome at normal rates. A 6 month old default can still be overcome but rates may be higher and you may need a bigger deposit. You should not need anything more than a 15% deposit, but possibly less depending on the details for a single default.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thank you for all the replies. It was registered 31.10.2017 so is over three years old now. It was £1700 credit card which has been settled since last year.We are looking at properties in the region of £325,000 with £80,000 deposit. All high street AIP’s have declined but NatWest. I am reluctant to get excited as makes me think on further investigations they may decline.0
