Negotiating a full and final settlement offer with Lowell Solicitors

I have recently returned to the UK after a good 12 years living abroad and discovered that i have 3 CCJ's against me with 3 different debt agencies.  These are for debts dating back to 2010 and unfortunately as i was not aware of the CCJ, the court hearing went ahead in my absence and was imposed back in 2017.  I am behind in the payment ordered by the judge £50/month as i didn't receive any paperwork given my not living in the UK.  Now that i am back, i want to get rid of the debt i owe but am not in a position to pay the full amount of the debt (especially now that they have added a lot of additional charges).  I've been successful with DrydensFairfax and Arrowglobal at negotiating a full and final settlement offer of paying back 35% of the debt which i have now paid.  I am still left with quite a large one with Lowell but currently they are unwilling to give me any kind of discount.  I have phoned them to explain my situation and i have written to them with an offer as well.  They are telling me that they do not ever give discounts and that i need to pay in full.  Has anyone been successful in negotiating a discount with Lowell? is there a better way of doing this? or are they just not going to back down and i'll need to eventually pay the full amount.  Any advice would be greatly welcomed!

Lots of people, in fact Lowell are one of the better debt purchasing companies when it comes to discounts.

Your problem may stem from the fact they have a CCJ against you, all I can suggest is give it 6 months and try again, if still not successful, rinse and repeat, its best negotiating in writing, that way you bypass the call handlers, who don`t really have the authority to make such arrangements, wear as a letter will often get through to the organ grinder themselves, instead of their monkey.

Thanks - i was thinking whether it would be worth advising them that other debt agencies have agreed on the 35% and see if that makes a difference? What do you think?

You may have to accept that you're not going to get a hefty discount on this one but don't give up. Stay polite and persistent.
