Have been tearing hair out!
Have letter: Employee Profit Sharing Scheme 1984 - Scottish & Newcastle Breweries addressed to me, Maiden name, old address stating I have a total of 426 shares. I’ve tried all sorts (as S&N were taken over by Heineken, I worked for Thistle Hotels who were owned by S&N). I have Epilepsy and forget lots! However, I’ve kept this Certificate since 1987, for some reason. I haven’t got £££’s to waste on a company chasing it for me. I keep being directed to the S&N Pension Plan, however, this is a Profit Sharing Scheme Certificate. The Certificate says address any queries to “your Personnel Dept”. I’ve tried Heineken, no record. 
Many ideas?

When S & N was taken over its assets were split between Heineken and Carlsberg. Have you tried approaching the latter?

1 This is what happens when you do not inform your old employer that a) marriage and name change and b) change of address. I imagine you also have a deferred pension. Something has happened and they probably wrote to all those who had shares but they did not have an up to date address for you because you did not inform them of one. Why didn't you google CEO email address? david.forde@heineken.co.uk explain the position and how you can encash the shares? I would also enclose the following from Wikipedia because the idiot staff the personal dept do not read the business press nor do they Google so they have no idea of the takeover and they are probably a bunch of kids because they made the older experienced S&N staff redundant. Also tell him you have contacted the relevant human resources departments with no success which is why you are emailing him. If all fails write to Radio 4 MoneyBox.

he former S&N Pub Enterprises leased pub division was rebranded as S&N Pub Company after the takeover. In 2012 it was rebranded again to Star Pubs & Bars, bringing an end to Scottish & Newcastle brand".

Thank you all for your help. Further investigation has brought me to Settlement Trustees Limited. I shall be writing to their Directors, those listed, tomorrow to see if they may help.
Yes, I’ve not kept my house in order, moving companies and not keeping S&N informed.

Hi, I’ve just come across your question (3 years after posting!) as I’ve just found an S&N shares certificate of mine from 1991. Just wondered if you had any success in tracking down the registrar (or any info on their value etc)? I’ve drawn a blank so far!

As the poster has only ever written two posts and they were 3 years ago, it is very unlikely they will see your question as clearly they are not an active forum user.
