Huge congratulations on the 2 payrises, must be such a weight off of your shoulders to have that bit extra coming in. Love the cardigan crossover thing. I’m rubbish at knitting, I can knit but just: knit one pearl one sort of thing.

Hello Bluegreen and hope all well with you lately?2

Hello neglected diary!
It’s been a lovely month - highlight being going on a lovely hen do last weekend 😍
It wasn’t too expensive in the end - cost breakdown:
- £145 for the accommodation (paid last month)
- £68 for activities and food/prosecco kitty, but I came home with a bottle of prosecco
- £32 on gifts for Red & the kids (just a colouring book each for the kids but I got Red a leather bracelet at the gift shop)
- £12 on food and drink out
The bride’s mum paid for our big dinner out which was so kind 🥰
I’ve finished sewing my dress for the wedding, which looks good, and my sister has lent me a pashmina to wear over it. Red has hired a kilt which was a bargainous £70.
We’ve been busy in the garden and did go garden centre shopping for plants yesterday, but that’s coming from our May budget as Red got paid yesterday.I’ve simplified our budgeting a bit - I use Monzo bank which allows for various pots and I just discovered you can set up DDs to come directly out of the pots. So I spent some time this morning checking my spending log and making sure all pots/accounts have what they should have in them.As I’m dog sitting my mum’s dogs today, we can’t really get out (one is a newish rescue and not good around other dogs so I don’t want to go out to the park) so the plan today is to get lots of gardening done. It is rainy alas 😂 I’d also like to do a proper declutter/deep clean of the bathrooms too. The inside of the cupboards is not something I usually do and they are quite manky now 🙈Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

May promises to also be lovely and pricey 😂.Plans are:
- my friend’s wedding this weekend, there is no way around a bunch of taxis being needed both for us (we have to go separately as I’m invited to the ceremony but Red isn’t due to it being a very very tiny ceremony in a registry office) and babysitters
- going camping next weekend
- got a five day self catering holiday (in Scotland) at the end of the month - so looking forward to it!
Oh meant to update on emergency fund goals - currently standing at £4,263.36 in the main emergency fund and £2,800 in our help to save accounts.Would love to top a £5k emergency fund in June 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Our emergency fund was at £2,284.74 on 1st Jan. £2,000 doesn’t sound like much extra but we’ve had a large car bill and large home repair since then which we’ve covered without dipping in 🙂Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

It sounds like you had a fabulous time at the hen weekend.
You have some lovely plans for May, enjoy them all.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I think £2K on the EF with a 4 person household, 1.75 incomes (ish) and the spending and projects you have described recently (I’m also thinking of Red’s Shed) is good going! 👏😊
