I believe every lender criteria is different. Some do hard search as soon as you confirm the button or your broker click on submit button of full mortgage application. Did you know why you were rejected. Did you address those points etc ?0

Have you checked all 3 credit reports as different lenders report to different credit reference agencies.
Are you doing it yourself or through a broker?
As above, did you find out why you were rejected?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
mini_lidi said:Hi All,
We are applying for a first time Mortgage and we have been rejected once by the underwriters (3 months ago) so applying again recently. We recently got an AIP with Barclays and on the same day we got a hard credit search. But with the other lender we never got a credit search even after the AIP. So is it common for some lenders to do the credit search at different times or what would the reason be why we never had a search done by the other lender?@mini_lidi Whether it's a hard-check or a soft-check depends on the lender and the channel you use. Some lenders do soft-checks at AIP stage, some do hard checks. Some will do it differently based on whether you go direct or through a broker.Afaik, for Barclays it's a soft-check if done direct and a hard check when done through a broker. Though to be clear, they are not exactly comparable.I am a Mortgage Adviser - You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
