Bloomin' BT

Just discovered that BT have placed a default on my credit file for a payment that was made in 2019. Spoke with BT and they cannot find a record of the payment despite me sending proof from my bank of the transaction. In 2019 / 20 BT sold the debt to 2 x collection agencies who I've proven the payment was not outstanding however BT still deny the payment was made and the default remains. BT now say the debt has been written off and have no record of the payment. I have contacted Equifax and Experian who will try to help. Is there anything else I should do? It's left me feeling a bit bruised and helpless.

Start an official complaint and if not resolved within 8 weeks (or you receive a deadlock letter) take it to the Ombudsman?1
