Declined Halifax Mortgage / Help to Buy checks

Halifax have declined my mortgage application because during their searches, they found that two years ago I dissolved a company which had an outstanding HMRC amount. I'm worried all high street lenders will take the same view? Its kinda going against me personally as bankruptcy / insolvency.
Also, does the Help to Buy Equity Loan do the same credit checks?

Do you think the same problem will arise with all lenders? Its an old company dissolved two years ago. My present company has 6 years of growth and my earnings have increased each year. I have a good credit score and report. I had no idea this was even going to show and it was an instant decline.0
