Teaching English to Chinese Students - perks and pitfalls?

I am an English teacher in a secure setting in my day job. I'm not sure about teaching English to UK students, who are studying GCSEs for example, as we don't often teach GCSE in my setting and I wouldn't be confident I could teach it well enough. However, I was wondering about the possibility of teaching English to Chinese students online. I have seen companies that seem targeted at American and Canadian teachers but not many in England. Most companies seem to require a degree (which I have) and something called a TESOL certificate that costs about $20 to complete (I haven't seen it advertised in the UK.)
I was wondering if anyone UK based has experience of teaching in this way and what your advice would be in terms of the perks and pitfalls of this job?

I think it's normally called TEFL in the UK.0

I have a degree and also did a TEFL course a few years ago which cost me way more than $20 to complete!
It's also called TESOL in the UK https://www.trinitycollege.com/qualifications/teaching-english/find-course
And if you just google 'TEFL courses', all kinds of helpful information pops up.
I thought it was well worth doing the course as it covers different aspects of teaching.
Once you have a certificate and know more about teaching English in this way, you can teach students from any country, not just China.

It's also called TESOL in the UK https://www.trinitycollege.com/qualifications/teaching-english/find-courseThat's why I said "normally" TEFL tends to be more common than TESOL
