Hello all,
Lager usually makes me bloated so I can't drink much more than a couple of pints but I tried this one called 'Posh Lager' made by 'Forest Road Brewery' and it was the best I've ever tasted with no bloating etc.

I was just wondering if anyone knows, is there something his lager has or doesn't have that makes it work for me?

Ingredients from their website:
MALT: Pilsner, Wheat
HOPS: Perle & Challenger
YEAST: Lager Yeast
ABV - 4.1%
COLOR - 9º EBC
RpH - 4.3
Original Extract - 9.7º P
Residual (Apparent) Extract - 1.7º P

Thanks

It looks like it is brewed with nothing other than natural ingredients, so in line with the Reinheitsgebot or German Purity Laws. I have found that lagers brewed to the Reinheitsgebot don't give me anything like the hang-over I get from beers that include chemicals. Perhaps your bloating is due to this, or possibly it is just down to their unique process, or blend of ingredients or the yeast they use. It would be worth trying a bottle or two of Becks Bier as this is also brewed to the Reinheitsgebot, so if this doesn't produce any bloating, it could be that you just need to drink lagers brewed in this way.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.
  • This is exactly the reply I was hoping for, thanks so much tacpot12!
  • Has Becks Vier changed to just normal Becks now?
Vier meant 4 as in 4% and also 4 ingredients but now I see the standard Becks describes itself as 4% and uses the purity method?
