Boiler Scheme Scotland and british gas 2.5 years interest free
My boiler (which is over 10 years old) is occasionally needing a helping nudge to work so i contacted British Gas for a new boiler quote (other work was required) the quote came in at over £5500 which i accepted, but Barclays (who they use) refused me the credit. I then tried the Scottish Boiler Fund (as i am on working tax credits) who will not help unless i also need cavity wall insulation (which i don't). Energy Saving Scotland said their grants/scheme are for properties 3 bedroom plus (mine is 2 bed). I have just applied to others and waiting for them to contact me. I have a dependent under 16 years old. I'm too poor for credit what i am supposed to do if they cant help?????

You had a lucky escape. British Gas are very expensive. I had my boiler replaced for less than 1/2 BG quote.
