    Why doesn't she direct this enquiry to the scheme? They can give her an estimate working full time and working part time. Why didn't she ask the question on this forum. She needs to understand what she has and not delegate that to someone else. This drives me mad! The husband dies, the wife knows nothing then gets ripped off due to ignorance!

    I have to say I agree with this - she should contact the administrators of the scheme who should be able to either offer a calculator (so it can be worked out yourself) or will do an example calculation.

    Has the wife looked into the impact of the McCloud judgement and how this may affect her pension depending on the choice she makes?

    It's her pension, she has earnt it through years of working and contributing, so she should be in control of asking these questions - and making the choices.
