Any seafood lovers care to help me out?

I love seafood (we all do in our house) will always order it when eating out but i am not that good when it comes to cooking it myself, i can manage grilling certain fish like mackrel, cod, and can even manage mussles. Prawns are a fav.
But there are so many seafoods i have not even tried to cook, i am desperate to cook lobster (never even tried as don't know how to eat it), crab and squid, but am terrified on poisoning us all essp the kids.
Can anyone give me some basic advice?
We are going to a market on suday where i know they will be selling loads of types of seafood would love to actually buy some, i always so no as i don't want to waste the money if i can't cook it properly.

    I am not a big seafood fan but you could try some of Rick Stein's recipes, some lovely seafood ones.

    If you need advice on things you buy a good fishmonger at the market will usually tell you what you can do with it.

    I buy packs of mixed seafood when on offer (in Tescos and the like) and lightly fry into an omlette - I'd like to put it in pasta, but feel you could only do it with creamy sauces (we're both on Slimming World) :(

    Any other ideas?

    I love seafood and have cooked most of it and the best tip I can give you is to cook it quickly and briefly as most of it gets decidedly rubbery texture if cooked for too long.As for cooking lobster and crab its a job best left to the professional unless you are prepared to plunge the poor creatures in boiling water alive!I prefer to buy them frozen already cooked and then if I want Lobster Thermidor its just a case of making a cheese sauce and pouring it over the top of the defrosted Lobster a little grated cheese on the top and a hot grill till browned.I'm sure this isnt the classic recipe but it works for me

    If i'm having seafood pasta, I don't like creamy sauces so I just chop up fresh tomatoes, fry them with a bit of garlic, few drops of lemon juice, lots of parsley then toss the seafood in. then toss the drained pasta in, cover with olive oil and then serve up.

    Or with with fresh prawns, just fry up a little garlic, put a bit (or a lot) of chopped chilli, fry with cubed courgettes until they get a bit mushy, pour in a bit of chicken or vegetable stock, then the prawns. simmer for 3 mins or so.
    then serve over pasta shells or something that will catch the sauce.

    Or you can do anchovies and brocolli. Can of anchovies in oil, drop them in the pan while mashing them up. Then add a head of steamed brocolli, mash it up a bit and some capers in rock salt (or if using pickled capers, drain them through a few time) and serve with linguini.
