Mortgage broker has gone awol.
My bank, natwest, rang me over something else and to cut a long story short ended up doing a dip.
The guy did it for less than needed as I asked him to do calculations on two different amounts. 100k or 80k. He emailed me the dip of 80k.
Someone has now said not to to another dip for a while as it will affect my credit rating. If true this means I cannot view higher priced property without the higher dip. Can I just go back to natwest and ask for them to increase it?
Guy said it would just be a soft search.
Also I bank with natwest and husband rbs. Was going to approach Halifax as that's who my mortgage is currently with. Any reviews on Natwest mortgage?
My husband is nearly 59 and natwest man said they will lend until aged 70 (we hope?

Only you can see soft searches in your credit file, so you don’t need to worry about these.
Most banks only do a soft search for a DIP so you’re free to get as many as you need. Some may do a hard search so double check before requesting from different banks.1
