Carry Forward when using the £2880 Allowance in Retirement

My partner has been retired for three years and has not paid into her pension during this time. She has some spare cash so we are opening up a SIPP (with II) and will pay into £2880 every year to gain the tax allowance to make it up to £3600. My question is can she claim for previous years and if so how do we do this?

No, she would normally need to be earning £40k to use carry forward.
And that only allows extra contributions in the current tax year, there is no possibility of claiming for previous years.0 -
Thanks Dazed for your prompt reply.1
