Leaving peoples pension - getting premiums back

Hi,

I tried google but no joy! I stated a new job 6 months ago, the job isn’t working out and I am thinking about leaving ( I have a 2nd interview next week ) my potential new employer doesn’t use the people’s pension! As stated I have paid 6 months of premiums so my question is can I get these back and shut the scheme down? I understand there is thresholds for these things but I can’t find out what it is!

anu thoughts gratefully received!

After one month you can't get it back but you will be able to transfer it to another pension or even leave it there.

You haven't paid 'premiums', you've paid pension contributions - which could be why you couldn't find an answer on google.

Changing  job doesn't matter. You simply join your next employer's scheme. You can either leave your People's Pension savings where they are, or transfer them out to another scheme.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
