Our 2 year fixed rate mortgage with Halifax is up in April. Halifax are saying that if you switch deals like for like with no changes you can do it online quickly and easily, with no affordability checks or fees. I am currently on furlough and have been on and off since the beginning of the pandemic. In ideal circumstances we were hoping to switch deals by chopping a few years off our mortgage term, currently 23 year. However with everything that has gone on and us taking advantage of the mortgage payment holidays we are more than happy to keep the current terms.
The offer that is available to us is
A 3 year fixed term at 2.94% (85% LTV). Is this a good deal or should we risk trying to shop around in this current situation. Many Thanks

Being on furlough and having taken a payment holiday aren't helpful in terms of remortgaging at the current time.0

Over the last 6 months brokers have had access to a 2 year fix that halifax havent been able to offer direct. If you want to be able to review earlier than 3 years then ask a broker to do it for you0
