Can you use YNAB if not in the US?mumoftwo30 said:Another vote for YNAB here. In the 4 years that we've been using it we cleared almost £20k of debt, we are three months ahead with all our bills (including mortgage), we have a healthy emergency fund, we invest regularly and we have just started over-paying our mortgage! I will use YNAB for the rest of my life!1 -
You can. You can change the currency to £ but it doesn't connect to your bank accounts.1

I use Excel, but then I use it for work and have been using spreadsheets since the days of Lotus 123; if I didn't use Excel already I'd use Google. I do an annual budget in one sheet and then I have a second spreadsheet where I track spend against the budget for each month, with columns for different spends, and then a summary which looks at year to date. This covers our main (joint) bank account and our Amazon Credit Card (which gives amazon vouchers as rewards).
We each have a Monzo personal bank account; there is a standing order from the main account to Monzo and we track our personal expenditure using Monzo. We also have a First Direct Account for savings. We put money in there each month to keep it free and it all then goes out to monthly savings accounts paying the best rates, including FD's own. I don't bother labelling them as pots, but I have a spreadsheet to keep track of savings which I total each month.
None of this requires super spreadsheet skills, but it's probably not for anyone that has none whatsoever.1 -
Another YNAB lover here. Worth every penny of the small subscription cost imo.0

It doesn't connect to bank accounts within the YNAB app, but there is an add-on available from a third party called Sync for YNAB that is £3.99 per month and covers lots of UK-based banks and such. Annoying having to pay more but can be worth it (I use it so I can link my partner's credit card because when he spends on it I don't have access to view it in an app).Naomim said:You can. Ah I didn't know that. I'm only on my first month of ynab but loving it so far.0
