Turned down for a permanent contract

  • Hi all just here looking for some advice.
Scenario - I am currently working for an agency in a warehouse and have been for 1 year. Very recently the company advertised for 100 new full contracts. I was approached by numerous team leaders / managers saying that I should apply, I did just that.
I've bolded the important bit, the team leaders/managers may not know about as it is normally though HR.

There will be 2 sides of this, you will need to check your agency contract as some of mine in the past have had the stipulation that I am unable to work with the company directly for 2 years after working there though the agency without expressed permission from the agency.

The other side is there will be a contact between the company and the agency about taking on people directly, there maybe a "finders" fee to the agency. This maybe decreased as General Grant said depending on how many hours you have worked at the company though the agency. However depending on the agency this may not be the case. A hospitality agency I've worked for it didn't matter how many hours you had worked at one venue there was a 2000 GBP fee to the company if they took you on directly. Another agency it was 600 hours and then there was no fee.
Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada
