Joint mortgage but one income

Me and my partner are looking to buy a house later this year but I don't currently have any income besides child tax credit as I look after our children full time and will do for the foreseeable future that won't be changing any time soon. We both have Lisa accounts which have small amounts of money in but with the tax year coming to an end soon we would like to transfer our savings in to the Lisa account to get the maximum bonus for this year.
We don't want want to end up having money in my Lisa that can't be used so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of a joint mortgage with one income? We're looking at all our options Including help to buy and shared ownership plus regular 10% deposit mortgages. I'm not sure if I read this correctly or not but I believe with either the help to buy or shared ownership I think I'd have to be named on the mortgage ? Not sure if this right or not though.
Thank you for any help 🙂

@samipah A joint mortgage with only one income earner is not uncommon at all. As long as your partner's income meets affordability to achieve the borrowing you need, it should be fine.
