Hi everyone! Im new on this thread but have been lurking for a week or so. I’ve always entered by text but started entering by phone call just recently!
I had my 42 entries today and can’t believe no one answered! My only problem is sometimes I have to work out of the country (ie. tomorrow), but will now be in the rollover! I always dread this happening in case they called me!
my question is, does anyone know, am I allowed to answer from another country? (I’ve always guessed not hence why I’ve always dreaded a rollover if it falls when in not in the uk! Failing that do you think I could forward my calls to my partner (who remains in the uk?!)  :#
If it rings answer it and say "make me a winner" worth a try. the person who rings must answer
I do it just for fun and whatever I win is a bonus

I’m sure I remember listening a couple of years ago where the winner was on holiday abroad at the time of the winning call, so you should be fine.

Also, I would look at this like this. The worst that can happen is that they call your number and it doesn't work. I guess that would mean your number would still be eligible to win another time. But if you don't enter, you have no chance of winning.

Legally, I would say yes - as long as you're handsfree to the letter of the law.

Is it advisable to do so?   Probably not.   If you answer and find you've won, is your mind really going to be on your driving?

But you do have a few seconds/rings to try and pull over if safe and legal to do so....

It does mention driving "illegally" twice in the T&C's:

    Under Item 5:

If entrants appear in the judgement of the presenters and/or adjudicators to be driving illegally, they will not be eligible to win.

    Under Item 11:

Entrants will not be put through to speak on-air if we think they are driving illegally, intoxicated, likely to swear, or otherwise offend our listeners.

    Gov.UK website states this:

It’s illegal to hold and use a phone, sat nav, tablet, or any device that can send or receive data, while driving or riding a motorcycle.

This means you must not use a device in your hand for any reason, whether online or offline.

For example, you must not text, make calls, take photos or videos, or browse the web.

    [...]

You can use devices with hands-free access, as long as you do not hold them at any time during usage. Hands-free access means using, for example:

    • a Bluetooth headset
    • voice command
    • a dashboard holder or mat
    • a windscreen mount
    • a built-in sat nav

The device must not block your view of the road and traffic ahead.

    Hope that helps?

    Best wishes!
