Make Me A Winner - General Chat

Shouldn't laugh but yesterday the OH came home early from work. He's currently on duty (military) and has redirected the duty phone to his personal phone. He entered Make Me a Winner as he occasionally does and at 1505 his phone rang, I was doing laundry in the kitchen. All I heard was him loudly answer it with the phrase 'Make Me a Winner' and some poor dumb founded chap on the end was all 'errmmmm, I can't but I am trying to find XYZ for ABC'

Safe to say I was chuckling away as he spent 5 minutes trying to persuade this poor bloke that he had found the right person. 

As he finished the call he said to me, 'Maybe I shouldn't have transferred the duty phone and asked him to make me a winner'      (Of course, I would have preferred it to have been that call but it was a little light entertainment)

Listened to the radio this morning, lines close at 2pm today with a guaranteed winner. They are going to keep calling until someone answers. Will let you know if I’m 42k up today!

Right after Moneymatters2022 posted the above, Nick Snaith (Magic Radio) said 3:00pm. It'd be better to triple check to avoid the long and tortuous wait.

I hope it's not before 3 - I'm on a course and it doesn't finish until then!!

Listening to Planet Rock, and it's still saying Make Me A Winner is "later today". So I think it will continue to be after 3pm


edit: yes, just stated lines close at 3pm

Selection is random - it is quite possible that more people text in towards the end so they know they are likely to be available to take the call and potentially more likely to answer correctly.
