Thank you for that response – Would we just have to give the fund manager a new platform and they would transfer it then?dunstonh said:
Possibly yes. However, many IFA platforms will only transact via the IFA and not direct to client.dbrookf said:As we are both retiring in the next month, if we wanted to release our IFA can we just carry on with our Fund manager and their charges (apparently IFA negotiated a preferential fee)?0 -
Not all platforms will offer all funds, particularly if some of the current ones are "in-house" own brand ones.dbrookf said:

We don't have an IFA but through a work scheme invest in SL Passive Plus funds direct with SL as the platform. If we moved elsewhere we wouldn't have access to those same funds as they are only offered on their own, in-house platform.
You need to look at what you are invested in.
For a transfer you would ask New Provider / Platform to contact Old Provider and request the cash / investments be moved across.1 -
But to use this case as an example . SL Passive plus funds are nothing special, and you could find very similar funds to substitute them with on a new platform after a cash transfer .AlanP_2 said:
