Additional bank account

I am due to be discharged from BR in about a month so to be on the safe side will wait until then but I want to open up an additional bank account which I will use for day to day spending (petrol, lunch etc) and keep my main account (A basic nationwide account I opened at the start of BR) for my wages coming in, bills going out etc etc. Once my discharge date passes is there anything to stop me doing this or anything potentially negative that could happen? Will the OR office look at me once discharged or am I now just waiting for a letter to appear on the due date saying I am now discharged? I have had no contact with them at all so far since the original interview.

I can’t speak for someone in BR but I know pre-paid cards are good for getting back on trackIf you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.
Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing0 -
If you do not have an IPA once discharged you're free to go.
While BR is still on your credit file..another 5 years you can struggle with some banks. I would check with Nationwide to see if they will give you an additional one.
You don't recieve a letter on discharge but go onto the IS site and search your name..click on and your status will have changed to discharged. This stays for 3 months so print a copy off for your reference1 -
You could open one now, I had 3 bank accounts while not discharged.
My account pre bankruptcy
An account I opened when I became bankrupt.
Created another account as didnt like the one I opened when I went bankrupt.
The bank didnt close my pre bankruptcy bank account, I did close one of the accounts eventually but I had 3 going and no issues. I now just have two, one for Bill's and one for savings.
You wont be able to get a standard account with overdraft likely until 6 years has passed but basic should be no problem, mine are with Nationwide and HSBC.
